Amarita's Journey with SkySmart

Pre-Travel Checks
Amarita relies on SkySmart to confirm flight details, check in seamlessly, and receive real-time updates at the airport.

Before Leaving Home
As Amarita prepares for her travel day, she verifies the airport and departure time on the SkySmart app to ensure accuracy before heading out, providing her with peace of mind as she grabs her cabin suitcase and sets off.

En Route to the Airport
She quickly checks her watch to confirm the departure time, flight number, and gate information, noting that the flight status is on time and the gate is 9B, allowing her to mentally prepare for her journey.

At the Airport
Having checked in the day before, Amarita proceeds directly to security; with her phone safely stowed in her purse, she conveniently scans her boarding pass using her smartwatch, eliminating the need to search through her purse for printouts.

Waiting for Boarding
Upon clearing security, she receives a notification on her watch indicating that boarding will commence in an hour at gate 9. Opting for a relaxing break, she settles into a nearby coffee shop to enjoy a cappuccino.

Boarding the Plane
As she makes her way to the gate, her smartwatch vibrates with a new notification signalling the start of boarding. With a quick swipe, she accesses her boarding pass and taps again to display the full QR code, ready for scanning at the gate.

On the Plane
Strolling towards the plane, she casually checks her watch and notes her seat number, feeling a sense of ease during her journey—a thought that pleasantly crosses her mind.

Structuring User Flows and Navigation for Optimal Travel Experience

Prototype

Utilized calming colors and minimalist design for a professional and reliable interface, inspired by travel aesthetics.

Designed streamlined interfaces for quick interactions, prioritizing essential information delivery and intuitive navigation.

The mobile app for frequent flyers enhances the travel experience by streamlining booking, providing personalized recommendations, and offering real-time updates. With user-centric features and a focus on convenience, the app aims to increase satisfaction, save time, and improve overall travel experiences.

Creating an Innovative Flight App: A User-Centered Approach

Effective Detail Management

Efficiently managing key details was crucial for coordinating functionalities between the phone and smartwatch versions, facilitating effective planning for user testing and iteration.

Cohesive User Experience

Developing a flight app for both phones and smartwatches necessitated prioritizing and streamlining information for each device. Guided by user scenarios, this ensured that relevant details were emphasized, offering insights into potential interactions. The app aims to help users by providing important information on their smartwatches, helping them stay organized and never miss a flight. Real-user testing will validate assumptions and ensure accessibility.

Next Steps

Testing and Iteration

1. Gather user feedback by testing wireframes for both phone and smartwatch interfaces.

2. Develop high-fidelity versions to ensure an intuitive experience across platforms.

3. Harmonize mobile and smartwatch app experiences, addressing screen size and color discrepancies.

Engaging Context Scenarios

Exploring scenarios with friends was a lot of fun and provided invaluable insights into user needs. Real-time testing with frequent flyers will confirm assumptions and optimize the app's functionality for their specific requirements.

Refining Wireframing Techniques

Focus on creating clear, user-friendly designs that can be easily translated into functional prototypes. This ongoing development is crucial for improving the overall design process and ensuring that both the mobile and smartwatch versions of the app meet user expectations. I am still working on my UI skills to achieve this.
